[where joo at? |a hotel room.]
[feelin' | nostalgic]
[soundtrack |Belle & Sebastian.]

That was so not six weeks.

I mean, I guess if I think about stuff that we did at the beginning of the summer, it seems like a really long ass time ago. But at the same time, it doesn't feel like I've been here for a total of six weeks. I think someone stole my summer.

Anyway, I'm chillun in a hotel room with my mother for the time being. Got a couple things to do tomorrow before we leave, and then I get on a plane home at 7 tomorrow night, which means I get into Fairbanks at about 1:30 on Tuesday morning. I MIGHT show up at the fair on Tuesday, but the more I think about it the more I'm not so sure about that. Mostly I think I'm just going to be depressed for the rest of my life about neverever seeing people I met here again. Or at least not seeing them for like, another year. I'm going to miss Chinatown lighters and rice cakes and parks and exacto knives and exacto-blade ninja stars and cowboy and danny the ninja and sewing and Sublime ringtones and the beach and falling asleep to Sean's reggae music in rooms full of mattresses.

BUT I guess it will be good to be home. I'm just really not feeling this part in between where I have to hang out with my mother all the time. ALTHOUGH today I finally got to go to the MOMA, since I was with people that weren't broke for once, and it was just as amazing as I thought it would be. Also, my mom took me to the cheesecake factory for lunch today, and that was amazing as well. There are perks to having parents around. Namely, they buy me things.

Man, I keep looking up at myself in this mirror hanging above the computer and being really surprised at my sunburn/tan. It's turning into more of a tan, now, I think, but it's also starting to peel. I s'pose this is what I get for spending a day at great america with no sunscreen. /whiteness.

AND NOW I think it's time for me to go repack and see if I can fit any more shit into my suitcase or something, so that my mother dearest can use her computer. (It's the only one with internet because the internet in this hotel is apparently impossible to use.) See you guys in a couple of days.

[where joo at? |860 Sutter Street, San Francsico]
[feelin' | awkward]
[soundtrack |none. :(]

Sooooo...I'm in San Francisco, and have recently finished unpacking. Up until a few minutes ago I was under the impression that I was without a roommate, since my name was on the door and hers was not, but then as I was leaving to go to Urban Outfitters (which I have not done yet), there was a knock on my door and there she was! So that's cool, I guess? I felt kind of antisocial and weird not having a roommate, but I'm sure it would have been nice. She seemed nice, from what I gathered, but that was not much, admittedly.

ALSO my mother left today, which is okay because she annoys me a lot sometimes, and on the other hand, not especially desirable because I still have orientation stuff to go to and I don't want to go by myself. =\ Also not especially desirable because she left because she could buy me stuff from Urban Outfitters. Now that, I consider a loss.

Anyway, they got new macs, here in the dorms, which is cool because last year they had really shitty computers down here, and even the fact that these are macs is outweighed by how much better these ones are. HOWEVER hopefully I will not be using them often - I just have yet to figure out the username and password required for me to use the WiFi they have.

OH I know this will mean nothing to anyone but perhaps Ashley, but CHUPO IS HERE. :D:D:D Yesterday when I was checking in I didn't see him anywhere, and I thought he wasn't here this year or something, but I came downstairs and there he was! /happy.

Anyway, it is about 15 minutes to 4, so I'm either going to walk down to Urban Outfitters and try not to spend ALL my money, or I'm going to hang around here some more and act awkward trying to make friends or something. o_o

I miss you all, I promise. <3

As of yesterday, I have exactly one month before I leave for San Francisco again. How exciting!

in more current news, Doctor Who is amazing, and, having finished the second season, I am desperately downloading episodes of season three. It's official, I'm hooked.

And that is pretty much what I've been doing for the past two days. I've spent two thirds of my summer so far watching Doctor Who. I guess saturday I did things. Went to a track meet, went flying, went to clucking blossom for a little while. Speaking of which, Clucking Blossom was cool. 8th grade english teachers with pink leggings and peacock feathers in their hair are always cool. As are strange men that NEVER STOP DANCING. Srsly, like, music stopped, people are like, talking onstage, and he's still going. Right now, he is probably still dancing. It would not surprise me in the slightest. God, I love hippies.

Anyway, thaaaaat's about all I have to say. I'm off to eat spaghetti now.

My dad just showed me this. =)

Computer Punctuation Poem

The following poem appeared recently in INFOCUS magazine. The original
authors were Fred Bremmer and Steve Kroese of Calvin College & Seminary
of Grand Rapids, MI.

A poll conducted among INFOCUS readers had established "waka" as the
proper pronunciation for the angle-bracket characters < and > though
some readers held out resolutely for "norkies."

The text of the poem follows:

<>!*''#
^"`$$-
!*=@$_
%*<>~#4
&[]../
|{,,SYSTEM HALTED

The poem can only be appreciated by reading it aloud, to wit:

Waka waka bang splat tick tick hash,
Caret quote back-tick dollar dollar dash,
Bang splat equal at dollar under-score,
Percent splat waka waka tilde number four,
Ampersand bracket bracket dot dot slash,
Vertical-bar curly-bracket comma comma CRASH.

Concerts are fun. Even when 4/5ths of the bands playing are not especially good.

Also, I am apparently really good at headbanging.

I'm going to sleep now.
Goodnight.

[soundtrack |Keane]

I haven't posted in forever.
And I can't seem to bring myself to go to sleep, even though I'm exhausted and will be COMPLETELY dead at school tomorrow, even if I go to sleep right now.

I remember why I don't post often now! I can never think of anything to saaaaay.

Steve's LAN was pretty much awesome, even though, like always, I didn't game at all. It's kind of strange that I have fun at LANs even though I play nothing, I think. *shrug* Whatever, the important part is that they ARE fun, I guess. I'm sad that it wasn't at my house, but I think it all kind of worked out in the end. Probably better than it would have been here.

My dad washed my wallet this weekend. Luckily nothing in it was like, important slips of paper or anything. I'm also kind of glad it's made out of duct tape, since it's all waterproof and stuff and didn't take long to dry out.

Today was also good because I had jelly beans. I really like jelly beans.

So I got my phone in the mail today. Feel free to call it.

Other than that...Uh...this weekend has been cool in a lazy sort of way.

I'm looking forward to Ball, even though I haven't found a dress yet. My mom got all excited when I told her it was coming up, and told me she would be looking for dresses in vancouver. (She's leaving tomorrow.) And she was like, "Do you want to go get your hair done? Let's make an appointment!" So that's fun and stuff.

I'm not sure what else to talk about...I'm pretty bad at this updating thing. Whatev's, I'm done.

So, I like how the only times I post on LJ are when I go on vacation.

Anyway, for those of you who, for some reason didn't know, I'm leaving today. In about an hour and a half, which means that we should probably go really soon, so we like, get on our flight and stuff. I'll be gone until about 3 PM on the 31st. I probably won't be on the internets much, but call me if you feel the urgent need to talk to me or something. 978-7397, in case you don't have it.

BYE BYE.

Blahhhhh. LJ entry time for Amy!

...I don't actually know what to talk about. It's just been a really long time since I posted, so I thought I ought to.

I was moving furniture around in my room yesterday, and I think I strained something. The muscle right above my armpit hurts a lot. :( BUT MY ROOM IS COOLER NOW. And my drums are set up!

aaaaannnnnd....uhm.....I'm getting a job! I've got an interview on Saturday morning at Joann's. Discount on fabric = glee!

Oh, and last but not least: Mind trip movie night tomorrow!

Edit: oh and...just because I think you guys will have fun with this lady:

It's been a long time since I updated.

School's fine. I love my classes, love my teachers, lovelovelovelovelove. Yay for junior year.

In more interesting news...I've finished moving all my stuff from my old bedroom into the big huge bedroom at the back of the house. (For those of you that have ever been to my house.) It's probably about twice the size my old room was, and even bigger feeling now that all the furniture that's not mine isn't in it anymore. Unfortunately, all my crap is still piled like a mountain in the middle of the room on the couch. ><

AND I just watched the first episode ever of Project Runway. Which means...
HEY ASHLEY! I FINALLY KNOW WHO DANIEL FRANCO IS!
Aren't you proud of me? =D
I still have to find a torrent for the second season though, so I can be all excited that you met Santino.

I think that's all. I'm off to bed now. G'night!

I need something to do after school other than just coming home every day. I really hate being home for multiple hours by myself. I'm just SO BORED. I end up in a really bad mood by evening if I just sit at home after school. *sigh*

In other news...I still love 2 days.

And I don't know what else to say. Maybe I'll go take the puppy outside for a while. :)

So, I just got off the phone with Mr. Blackburn.

My revised schedule:

APUSH
AP Art History
Ceramics
Physics
Studio Art 1A
AP Language and Lit
(I'm taking functions correspondance.)
...
.....
OMG I FUCKING LOVE MY SCHEDULE. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Schedule!

APUSH - Kind
AP Art History - Haggland (yay!)
Ceramics - Haggland (double yay!)
Physics - Stagg
Functions - Benson (boo.)
AP Laguage/Lit - Heimer

I pretty much love all but my math class. I mean, what's with me getting Benson three years in a row? I don't even like her that much. >< I think, perhaps, I'm just going to take it correspondance and get my dad to teach me. Or I don't know. Just get another teacher or something. But I love the rest of my schedule, so I don't want to change any of that. *shrug* We'll see.

Uhm...The plan is to be done with my summer homework by tomorrow night. I think I might get close. :) Anything I don't finish tomorrow will be done Sunday. Whee!

[soundtrack |Switchfoot. WTF? *switches song*]

In a sudden fit of insomnia that I think was probably brought on by the large amount of chocolate covered coffee beans I found downstairs, I have just stayed up all night.

I've been productive, too. I read another...70 or so pages of Grapes of Wrath, (mostly) cleaned my room, and finished (successfully!) resizing a t-shirt. Strangely enough, the only time I've gotten tired has been when I've sat down at the computer.

And with that said, I'm going to go...do something else so I don't get even more tired.

[soundtrack |Mandy Goes To Med School - Dresden Dolls]

So. I haven't actually updated since I got home. *shrug* I guess I just didn't feel the need to. Most of you have seen me at this point, I think. I've been at the fair 3 out of 4 days, I think I've seen just about everyone I know in this town.

Speaking of which, the fair has been cool. As good as it ever is, despite the fact that they took the octopus away. :( The one ride I liked, and it's gone. But the food is as good as ever. Pretzels especially. n_n God those things are good.

Other than that...nothing very exciting has happened recently. Ben left this morning, that's kind of lame. Oh, and so did the crazy alcoholic freind of my parents that's been staying with us. I can't say I'm too sorry about that, though. He just sort of planted himself on our couch and watched movies all the time. And he snored really loud. REALLY loud. Like, yelling, almost.

Anyways. The other thing would be that school starts in...two weeks, and I've got a crapload of reading and APUSH and stuff to do before then. *stresses* I might just have to lock myself in my room for a couple days and work nonstop. I think that will wait until after the fair is over, though. Yay for procrastination?
